What Iconprobe does
Iconprobe is a diagnostic tool. When you submit a URL, it fetches the page at that URL, reads the declared icon references from the HTML, fetches each icon file and the two standard fallback locations, and reports what it found.
Data you submit
When you enter a URL and click Scan, that URL is sent to the Iconprobe API (/api/probe). The API uses it only to fetch the page and its icons. The URL is not stored, logged, or associated with any identifier.
Data the tool fetches
The API makes HTTP requests to the URL you submit and to every icon URL it finds on the page (including the root fallback locations). These requests are server-to-server and are not visible to your browser beyond the result table.
What we do not collect
- No personal information — we do not ask for your name, email address, or any identifier.
- No cookies — the site sets no cookies and uses no tracking technologies.
- No analytics — no analytics scripts, no page-view tracking, no session recording.
- No IP logging — the API does not log the IP address of the requesting client.
- No accounts — there is no user account system, no login, and no stored profile.
Third-party services
The Google Fonts API is used to load the site's typefaces (Space Grotesk, DM Sans, and JetBrains Mono). Google's privacy policy applies to those requests. No other third-party services are loaded.
